Lighthouse — Website Banner for Scouts

Here is another example of the effective use of a local panoramic photo in a website banner. One of the local Boy Scout Districts is the Lighthouse District. When I was asked, it certainly looked to be a good match and I gave approval and license for the use of the image on the website. I had many great times as a Cub, Scout, and Explorer. The image is the Summer Solstice 2010 shown on the blog slideshow and taken at sunrise with a very fortunate cloud pattern. As I mentioned in a previous article, I believe there is often a nice trade opportunity with non-for-profit organizations use of an image and getting just a bit of exposure with the photo credit.  The website is very well done, credit gordondesign.com and acknowledge their webhosting provided as a public service.
