Exhibit at Finger Lakes Gallery and Frame

Recently, Finger Lakes Gallery and Frame  put out a call to photographers to enter their juried competition Beginnings. I made two entries and was pleased when five photographs were accepted into the exhibit. I was even more pleased when I learned that my photograph Solstice Sunset 2010, shown above,  won a second prize award  and Canandaigua Pier, described in the previous article, won an honorable mention.  Aimee and Bob put on a wonderful artist’s reception on March 4 and I enjoyed chatting with those attending and having the opportunity to meet other local photographers. The Solstice Sunset 2010 is on the AluminArte Metal Print and I got a number of compliments on it during the reception. The Canandaigua Pier is a framed canvas print. They have a wonderful gallery space to exhibit the work and have upgraded the lighting — first rate!  The Beginnings exhibit runs through March 26 and is worth a visit with so many great photographers showing some of their best. They are at 175 South Main St in beautiful downtown Canandaigua.  I hope to have the opportunity after the exhibit to continue to exhibit with them.
